Before I leave for Nerdvana, I just wanted to pop in with something that annoys me; people who are shocked when I can't perceive sarcasm on the internet all the time.

It's the INTERNET. I can't hear your tone of voice in cyberspace, you fool. Sure, if it's obvious sarcasm then it's no problem to get, but if it isn't, then it's not my fault that you don't get that I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or just making a really stupid statement. I mean the 'net is FULL of idiots who would honestly think stuff like, say, "if you steal music you're going to hell." How am I supposed to tell if you're not one of them?

There we go, I'll be back tonight with talking about stuff, such as whose autographs I begged for and what I bought. Plus I WILL do that EWB rant tonight.

Ran into Tony, Leon, and Semicolon there.

Gail Simone autographed Deadpool #68 for me (I was REALLY wanting #67 but none of the dealers had it) and was a REALLY good person for me to talk to first since she was really easy to talk to and whatnot. Issue 68 rules anyway, if just for the MANLY scooter.

I got to the Bendis line RIGHT before the cutoff. Bendis is a really, really cool guy judging from my conversation with him, listening to other people talk to him, and the Marvel panel (which I will get to soon). He signed New Avengers #2 for me (I'm not sure where #1 is. Did I lend it to you, Victor, or is it just somewhere in my house?). Tomorrow I will get David Finch to sign for me, though his line is pretty long.

Greg Rucka and Michael Lark to sign Gotham Central #22. Tony's mom actually knows Rucka, which is cool.

After that, Tony, Leon and I ran into Marryq;y/Semicolon at the Marvel Comics panel, which comprised of an editor (C.B. something), Brian Michael Bendis, Robert Kirkman, Ed Brubaker, and John Layman. It was supposed to be an hour and a half long but they pretty much went two hours. It was an entertaining panel since everyone except Layman had a lot to talk about (Layman writes Gambit. That's it. He was mostly self-deprecating about being there.), and Brubaker, Bendis, and Kirkman were consistently taking shots at each other. Bendis and Brubaker were consistently making jokes about the Walking Dead since a question was asked about it and they both got a kick about bringing up zombies. Meanwhile, Brubaker continually made jokes about Bendis killing Hawkeye off. Bendis had a great story to share about the backlash there, though, since apparently someone sent him a letter saying "I am Hawkeye. You killed me, and now I'm going to kill you."

Other Highlights of the Panel:

- When someone asked about the writers' involvement with the Marvel films, they talked about how they were involved and whatnot, and Brubaker capped it off with "And thankfully, none of us had anything to do with Elektra." What's REALLY funny about this is that in the Marvel comics from this month Joe Quesada is pretty much shamelessly shilling Elektra like it's great stuff.
- Someone apparently sent a suggestion to Kirkman regarding the Walking Dead that was like "What if they were in a boat?"
- The news about the next arc of New Avengers; that it was going to focus on the Sentry and will have variant covers that will be like the covers of the old Sentry comics that never existed (I believe they were called Startling Stories?), done by Silver Age artists.

After that I had some overpriced nachos and then watched the Trivia Contest thing which had a Fans vs. Pros theme. The fans won like two times, and the pros (Kurt Busiek, Roy Thomas, and Not Mark Waid since Waid was sick) won three. And keep in mind, the contest was geared towards the fans. I also got a shot at winning a prize pack thing, but unfortunately it was not to be.

However, that disappointment was made up for in spades by the fact that I went to the Penny Arcade booth and, as it turned out, Jhonen Vasquez was there hanging out and talking to Gabe and Tycho. So I listened in, interjected a couple of times regarding things, and then thanked Jhonen for eavesdropping like a creepy fanboy loser, to which he replied "Whatever gets you off, man." and shook my hand. I mean, it's kinda pathetic, but at the same time, SO cool. I no longer even need to stand in the hella long line to get his autograph tomorrow; this was good enough.

I bought some Gotham Central issues, a Thunderbolts issue, and then went home. Tomorrow my goals are to get Busiek, Scott Kurtz, and Ed Brubaker's autographs, to get a sketch of something by Gabe (I'm going to make a rather odd request in Shigeru Miyamoto, because my favorite strips are when they kidnapped him), to ask a question at the DC Comic Creators panel, and get the following comics...

- Deadpool #11
- The issue of Thunderbolts that X-Statix showed up in briefly.
- The issue of Thunderbolts with the Great Lakes Avengers.
- Possibly New Avengers #3.

The rant goes up next, it's just that this post is long enough.

Okay. themick wanted to know who I hate in EWB. For those who don't know, EWB is short for Extreme Warfare Battleground, which really isn't the best name, but it's a good board if you ignore all the idiots.

I'm not going to name names except for U.s._Champ_Mysterio. I hate that guy.

The main thing I hate is people who open the god forsaken can of worms that is the Montreal Screwjob. It leads to the same damn debate that has been beaten into the ground. "Bret is a whiner, Canadian fans need to get over it!" "Maybe they could if WWE didn't reference the screwjob ceaselessly!" Blah blah blah yak yak yak SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DISCUSS SOMETHING NEW. Then there's the guys who write terrible EWR diaries and shill them everywhere. Oh, and then there are the people who are ignorant of everything and proud of it. People who don't get the hint of when to leave me alone are bad too. Really, the people I hate on EWB are just like the people I hate everywhere else.

There, I'm done. Phew.
