Today was a good day.
Mar. 12th, 2005 12:30 amLet's sum up today. Fun fun.
Japanese 102 was utterly forgettable. I turned in my homework and then trudged through work on shopping-related verbs.
Then I went to Nova and read a lot of Chris Claremont Uncanny X-Men in the newly christened Geek Lounge. Also, it was Rynfield's birthday so there were a ton of balloons in the normal lounge. They were fun to mess around with. Then came Drama, where I finally did some actual acting as we ran through the first Austen scene. Lot of stuff for me to remember there. Anyway, NOW we're getting to the good stuff; the best bus ride ever.
At the bus stop for the 3 Victor, Brian and Julia are discussing various things. Since I didn't particularly want to stand alone bored at the 48 stop, I decide to hang out with them and discuss various things. So we do. Then the bus shows up and I'm like "Eh, I'm so lazy I'm gonna take the 3 to the 48's stop." And naturally, I don't get off the bus because I'm enjoying hanging out so much. Also on the bus was Becca, who didn't show up until a little before the bus came and Sarah, who earlier said hi whilst we were at the busstop and then left, and then got on the bus two stops later. So we're all in the back of the bus babbling about various things in British accents (y'know, since all of us 'cept Becca are acting in Wildest Dreams, and that requires a British accent and all). The best part of it was Brian listing off random, insane French history facts, partially because they were funny and partially because the other people in the back of the bus were either weirded out or amused by us. Then Victor got off the bus due to having someone to meet and we went downtown, and... the bus stopped. Apparently something screwed up with the wiring so we couldn't continue. So everyone on the bus got off (including Sarah who actually had somewhere she had to be unlike the rest of us)... except for Brian, Becca, Julia, and I, who took the opportunity to move up to the front of the bus so we could talk to the bus driver. We were so lucky; we got the best bus driver EVER. Really funny guy with a penchant for British comedy and messing with people. At one point this woman who had to be in her late fifties at least came up to the bus looking like she was going to burst into tears. She frantically asked about the busses not moving because apparently she didn't want to be downtown when it got dark because she was scared of the dark. It was really, really odd since she was acting about fifty years younger than she really should've been.
Anyway, after ten or fifteen awesome minutes the bus finally gets going and we discuss Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Monty Python with the bus driver until our stops come up and we all part ways. So I go to Border's Books and read a couple of comics before heading to the 106's bus stop. Right after I get there Mom calls me and asks me where I am because she was leaving work. Since I was downtown, she decided to pick me up, so I told her I'd be at Barnes and Noble. I get out of the bus terminal and head for Barnes and Noble and BOOM, I run into Marcus Reese, who was one of my best friends in 7th grade. I hadn't seen him since 8th Grade graduation, though we'd talked on AIM a few times, so that was awesome. We talked for a while, like ten, fifteen minutes or so, and then he had a bus to catch on, well, the other side of town, so he left. Then I got picked up and we got Jack in the Box for dinner, and that's it for interesting stuff (unless you want the riveting tale of how I spent three hours on City of Heroes, surprise surprise, hanging out with people instead of actually doing missions).
So yeah. Today was a good day.
