... so I'm bored at work and I just like the idea of doing more top fives. In honor of Weezer releasing a new album today with a cringeworthy title (Raditude!!!!!!) and probably awful music, I decided I'd rather focus on what they've done that I love rather than what they have and will do that I hate.

Top Five Weezer Songs:

1. "Only in Dreams" (the best song they have ever and will ever made and in 2002 when I first heard it, the first rock song to exceed six minutes that I really loved)
2. "December" (the more I think about it, the more I love Maladroit, their last good album. There's nothing revolutionary or deep to it and the songs are mostly just straight love songs, but it works. This is my favorite track off of it because it's basically a '50s pop ballad filtered through power-pop. Simply superb.)
3. "Across the Sea" (Rivers Cuomo at his most earnest and, well, his most gloriously creepy. Even before confirming that he actually got this letter I pretty much knew he did because who makes up shit like this?)
4. "Holiday" (I still remember becoming fixated on this song in eighth grade, I think this was the first non-single song off of The Blue Album to really grab me. This was soon followed by basically every other song on that album except... really, the singles, which I like but aside from "Buddy Holly" never really loved.)
5. "Burndt Jamb" (I have never really been able to place my finger on why I love this one so much. I just do. At least it means no paragraph on this one, right?)

Ah, sweet, sweet 2002 flashbacks.
